reviews

Wee Cowrin' Timorous Beastie
In 2006 production began a fabulous collaboration
with Texas Poet, Karla K. Morton.

WEE COWRIN' TIMOROUS BEASTIE is an
'epic story of Scotland written in rhyme' featuring
music by Howard Baer.

The 40-minute ballad was released in book/CD
format in 2007.

"Together, the music and verse are surprisingly visual. Mr. Baer has a light touch, adding just a throb of drums to suspenseful verses and dipping into murkier tone colors when the action turns dark. He uses bagpipes, strings, percussion and even accordion to shroud the story in mist, soak it with rain or let in the light."

Howard Baer's music production can be heard on 18 SOLITUDES and AVALON releases available in Canada, the USA, and throughout the world. Recently, one of these projects, received this rave review:

"This superb album seems to breathe the air of the Canadian northwoods... Mr. Baer's arrangements and production (both brilliant as a crystal spring) are nothing short of inspired."

Two others have been recognized with JUNO nominations as Best Instrumental Album Of The Year.
